Theme of Activities: Space

This month we studied about "All about me". We learned many new things about ourselves and our friends. We had `show and tell` where each child had a chance to bring in their favorite thing from home and tell us about it. The other children were given a turn to ask questions to their friends. We also celebrated Valentine's Day and Setsubun this month!

Circle Time:

In circle time we learned vocabulary about family, emotions, body parts and jobs. We talked about our family, including what they look like and things that they like to do. We also talked about what makes up feel happy, sad and confused. We had a great time learning the new songs this month and our favorite song is about a boa constrictor! We have been keeping warm by exercising with a fun routine to our new exercise song.

Morning Activity:

We have done many interesting activities this month. In science, we did experiments on our fingerprints, skin and bones and learned about what is inside our bodies. We continued with our language and math books and also made a book about ourselves including things such as our height, weight and telephone number. In art, we made 3-D houses, family trees and worry dolls. We celebrated Valentine's Day by cooking delicious strawberry jam which we used to make heart shaped sandwiches. Yum!

Afternoon Activity:

It has been a very cold month! On the days that we nice, we played outside in the garden. We also played some fun games in the playroom and read lots of books during library time. We are excited for spring to come!
