Newsletter January Theme of Activities: Space We spent this month exploring all the fascinating things we can find in space. We had a fabulous time learning about the planets and everything else space related. We ended the month with our space day where we wore our original space masks, made delicious snacks and played lots of new and fun games. Circle Time: In circle time we learned lots of new vocabulary and concepts including things such as meteoroid craters, comets, and space shuttle. We talked about the 8 planets and learned lots of interesting facts about each one. We also talked about what we would wish for if we saw a shooting star!! We have enjoyed practicing our space songs and have learned lots of new verbs this month. We especially loved playing space relay games. Morning Activity: We did many fantastic activities this month. In art we made UFO?s with aliens on top, galaxies from colored coffee filters, moon and star mobiles and alien masks. We learned about comets, constellations, meteoroid craters and watched a rocket launch in science. We have continued with our language and math books and completed lots of challenging worksheets related to space. Afternoon Activity: We have been playing lots of new games in the playroom during the afternoon activity including space pictionary and space fruit salad. When the weather has been nice we have been playing outside. The children really enjoy making roads and construction sites and we now have a huge black hole in our sandbox!! Miscellaneous:
