Newsletter December Theme of Activities: Winter This month we studied all about winter. We have been busily practicing for our Winter Party and our musical, The Mitten. We love winter and we hope it will snow soon! Circle Time: In Circle Time, we learned many new worlds related to winter, such as sleighs, heaters, figure skating, ski slopes, lifts and reindeers. We talked about cold weather animals and what our favorite thing about winter is. We have learned many new winter songs and more in preparation for our musical, and we have been doing our exercise song to keep us warm! Morning Activity: We have spent our mornings doing many winter things. In Art, we made patchwork mittens, wooly hats, snowmen, snowflakes and reindeers using our feet and hands. In Language we have almost finished our language books. In Math, the older kids are doing fractions, and we think they are easy! The younger class finished their math book and will start more challenging math next year. In Science, we made real igloos and learned all about snowflakes and hibernating animals. We made yummy snacks for the winter party too! Afternoon Activity: We have had just 3 weeks to perfect our winter musical and every student has done a great job learning their lines and dances. We hope you will enjoy it! When the weather has been cool and sunny, we have played outside in the garden. Miscellaneous:
