Newsletter June Theme of Activities: The World This month we traveled around the world and visited many different countries. We then returned to Japan which we studied exclusively for one week. We were very lucky to have so many parents come and teach us about the world using `show and tell` and bringing us yummy snacks! Circle Time: In circle time we studied the flags of all the countries we visited. We talked about interesting things we can find in these countries such as food, sports, animals and special landmarks. During Japan week we focused on things we find in Japan. We also sang songs from different countries of the world, some were even in different languages! Morning Activity: Morning activities were so much fun this month! Everyday we learnt about a different country and had a guest speaker show us something from that county. We also had an opportunity to try food from that country. All the food was delicious. We then made a postcard and drew pictures on the back of something famous from the county we visited. Our suitcases are full of our postcards. Afternoon Activity: During afternoon activities we continued working on our math and language books. Each group had a chance to make an activity focusing on one of the countries we studied. We made a Mexican pinata which we broke and collected candy from, an Indonesian volcano which we erupted and a beautiful Japanese castle. Miscellaneous: Thank you so much to all the parents who volunteered to help us this month. We learnt so much from you. Ask us About: Where we are from? Where we want to go? What countries food do we like? |
