Theme of Activities: Spring

This month we had a great time learning all about spring! We have been very busy rehearsing our spring songs and dances as well as learning our lines for the presentations. We celebrated Hinamatsuri by making origami dolls, eating the special snack and singing the Hinamatsuri song.

Circle Time:

We studied lots of new vocabulary about spring in circle time. We learnt about the weather, animals and plants that we see in spring. We also talked about different activities that we do in spring. We loved our new exercise song, Supercalifragilistic, everyone was enthusiastic to use this song to get in shape.

Morning Activity:

We did lots of exciting activities this month for spring. In science we learning about how caterpillars change into butterflies, how the water cycle works, and we made a real rainbow using water, the sun and a mirror! In math, the younger class practiced counting and connect the dots. The older class were challenged learning about fractions and making graphs. In language we learnt new spring vocabulary and how to write many of the words. In art we made lots of beautiful crafts including stain glass butterflies, a bird nest and cherry blossom pictures.

Afternoon Activity:

We spent the afternoon rehearsing for our spring party. Everyone tired very hard to get the lines, songs and dances down perfectly. Both of the classes were great audiences for each other and when the weather was good we could take turns playing outside, we especially like playing in the sandbox.
